Oregon History Center Bridge Funding

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

Adams gained City Council support to aid downtown Portland based Oregon Historical Society with a $___ one-time grant after state support was cut off. The Portland-based Oregon Historical Society was funded by the State of Oregon from 1899 to 2003. State funds were cut off for four years until Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski and the State Legislature managed to restore state funding to $1.4 million a year in 2007-09, then it fell to $300,000 a year for the current 2009-11 budget, plus modest proceeds from sales of a new historical license plate.[i]
